Job Description

Behaviour Support AssistantOur partner school in the Cheshire East area of Macclesfield are looking to bring on a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with their students displaying challenging behaviour. The role will be full time and temporary starting as soon as possible.Candidate requirements for this role:

  • Experience working in behaviour support is beneficial
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people e.g. youth work, support work, sports coaching, mentoring, tutoring
  • Passion to work with students displaying challenging behaviour, students from youth work/ residential care backgrounds, SEMH students
  • Desire for a career in education
  • Child Workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ eligibility to apply for one
  • Suitable school/ employment-based references with no safeguarding/ disciplinary concerns
    • The successful candidate will work to support students displaying challenging behaviour in the classroom, working to be a professional role model and promoting a positive working environment. BSA’s will also work with students in 1-1 and small group academic intervention and pastoral support sessions to help raise student attainment and promote positive decisions regarding behaviour, attendance, work etc.Highlights of this position include:
  • Full time Behaviour Support role in Macclesfield based secondary school
  • Supporting students displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH students, students from residential care and youth work backgrounds, SEN students
  • Supporting students in class or 1-1/ small group alongside SENCO’s and other support staff
  • Temporary position until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to become permanent
  • Wages of up to £350 a week
  • Ideal opportunity for candidates local to Macclesfield, Henbury, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Brookhouse and the surrounding areas
