Summary Join our fantastic team for the 2023 season!This role as a Welcome & Service Assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service welcoming visitors at Lydford Gorge. Youll be working within a bustling atmosphere as part of a team or independently at either of our two entrances which are within a mile or each other.This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we strive to offer a consistent working pattern, but were looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. Wedgive as much notice as possible. The fixed term contract is starting in April and ending in October, and may require weekdays, weekend and bank holiday working. What its like to work here Lydford Gorge is a steep sided river gorge nestled on the western edge of Dartmoor which has been drawing visitors in search of the picturesque since Victorian Times. The River Lyd plunges, tumbles, swirls and gently meanders as it travels through the steepsided oak-wooded valley, which is abundant with wildlife.We have a Second Hand Bookshop, Tea Rooms at both entrances and a Tramper located at the Waterfall entrance. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so youll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent serviceto all our visitors, every day.We give each visitor a warm and friendly welcome to Lydford Gorge. We inform on the best routes around the property depending on their needs, share information and youll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything theyneed for their visit.When interacting with our visitors, youll inform them of the amazing work we are doing and what their money is funding, promoting local projects or our national strategy as well as thanking them for visiting.Youll also be responsible for ensuring the welcome area is clean, tidy and presentable.
