Job Description

Interim Stock and Inventory Manager - Leading UK 3PL Provider (6 Month FTC) - Lutterworth.Client DetailsMichael Page Logistics are supporting a well known and easily recognisable UK 3PL Logistics client in their search for an Interim Stock and Inventory Manager. Working for one of the faster growing businesses in the UK right now, this role will be responsiblefor the Lutterworth distribution centre, leading a well skilled and highly capable stock management team in achieving operational excellence.The newly created role is now a business critical position in successfully appointing during the Q4 2022 period to help capitalise on their ambitious growth plans, with a vierw to going permanent during Q1 / Q2 2023.DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Report into the Site General Manager (or similar)
  • Direct line management of 1 x Inventory Supervisor & administration team.
  • Accountable for inventory control across the entire flagship Castle Donington DC / Warehouse meeting all of the businesses operational requirements within Warehousing & Logistics.
  • Design and implement daily, weekly and monthly action plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy and service to support in delivering a world class operation - also with the ability to upscale very quickly in order to service increased demand.
  • To develop and deliver the inventory strategy, standardise and implement robust processes, and be responsible for ensuring all inventory policies and practices are adhered to and adopted throughout the organisation.
  • Be responsible for rolling out a PI Audit programme throughout the network.
  • Ensure best practice within the sites inventory team; through the implementation of new ways of working, robust SOPs.
  • Develop routines and procedures that contribute to maintaining accurate stock files.
  • Undertake Root cause and trend analysis, then proactively educate the inventory and operational teams on issues that arise which could have been solved at source.
  • Conduct detailed audits of all inventory functions across the network.
  • Actively manage the teams activity through direct reports and also their development; which includes being responsible for performance reviews, coaching and development, lead a high performing team and support succession plans.
ProfileThe successful candidate for the Interim Stock and Inventory Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:
  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background.
  • Previous exposure to managing large scale Stock / Inventory within Warehousing & Operations, ideally across a fast paced, complex environment - Essential.
  • A minimum of 3+ years Stock / Inventory Management experience - Essential.
  • A minimum of 2+ years experience of people management - Advantageous.
  • Past experience in delivering inventory process standardisation and improvements, ideally within a 3PL, FMCG, Food environment - Advantageous.
  • Experienced to a Super User status of a WMS - e.g. JDA, Manhattan, Red Prairie along with Microsoft packages including Excel - Essential.
  • A proven ability to operate at pace along with accepting an ever changing business landscape.
  • A strong influencer across a range of key stakeholders, peers groups and larger operational teams.
  • Be commercially minded and results driven.
  • Commutable to Lutterworth.
Job OfferThis position offers:
  • Salary - £40,000 to £50,000.
  • Plus additional company benefits.
