Job Description

  • To produce and process accurate quality business accounting records.
  • To provide financial data that supports the accountant and management, to make informed financial decisions.
Your responsibilities:
  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software and databases.
  • Preparing income and expenditure financial statements.
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheets.
  • Preparing employee payroll, workplace pensions and contractors.
  • Paying invoices and tracking bank account balances/reconciliation.
  • Hold finance meetings with the Directors.
  • Managing employee expense claims.
  • Submit and reconcile quarterly VAT returns.
  • Budgeting monthly for VAT, PAYE and Corp tax liabilities.
  • Supporting the accountant with annual accounts and other duties.
  • Managing the journal of asset depreciation.
  • Paying any suppliers and creditors.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external people.
  • High degree of drive and self-motivation to prioritise and achieve set goals.
  • Exceptionally skilled at transferring data with accuracy.
  • Quality focussed with an eye for detail.
  • Resilient and highly adaptable with problem solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, especially with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software.
Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum AAT level 3 or equivalent (National Diploma).
  • XERO software working knowledge preferred.
