We are committed to providing the best support possible and continually strive to improve our services by offering a full and comprehensive training programme and developmental opportunities to staff.About the role and the serviceWe are looking for an experienced manager to stabilise and develop a complex supported living service for four young adults with a learning disability and complex needs. You will be responsible for leading a large staff team including two assistant managers.You will be working alongside and coaching the existing staff team to support the four individuals to achieve positive outcomes and to integrate into their local community. The three young men and one woman share a well-adapted large bungalow in the Loughorarea of Swansea. All four people are under thirty and have a zest for life despite their disabilities and enjoy numerous activities such as trampolining, water sports, hydrotherapy, football, rugby, horses, and sensory activities.They are keen to learn new skills and their support team need to show enthusiasm and commitment in helping them to take a much more active part in running their home.We want a proactive person who thinks outside the box, has a can do attitude and a willingness to share skills, hobbies and interests to enable people to improve their quality of life by delivering excellent person-centred support. Experience of workingin partnership with health professionals to develop and implement complex health support plans for example, Peg, Jej, epilepsy, SaLT, and Manual handling would be advantageous. In addition, understanding of working with people who use alternative methods ofcommunication would be highly beneficial.What will be expected of you:At least two years experience in a managers role, working with people with learning disabilities.Proven ability to use person centred approaches and tools to meet individual needs, developing the skills of the staff team in Active Support and providing opportunities to people so that they gain new skills and are more actively involved in their localcommunity.You will deliver high quality support to people and ensure your team have the necessary skills and resources to enable the individuals to increase their independence, have more choice and control and support decision making.You will be working with an extensive group of external professionals to address and support peoples individual needs while also working in partnership with peoples families on a daily basis, striving to ensure the way in which support is provided is alwaysin the best interests of the individuals.You will need to have a good understanding of key legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, Social Care and Health and Wellbeing Act and implication of RISCA within the management role.You will be required to manage and work within a rota to provide 24/7 support, so reliability and flexibility are essential, working hands on as part of your role to lead and demonstrate best practice.You will have a valid and full UK driving licence is also essential as you will be expected to travel to this and other services when at work and when you are on call.You will hold an QCF level 5 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.Your rewards
