Job Description

Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Location: Loughborough Salary: £15k - £39k DoE Job Type: Permanent, Full Time We are looking to speak to vehicle technicians / mot tester of all levels of experience based in and around Loughborough area. Our client supplies a wide range of used cars and vans, and are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic Vehicle Technicians with the right attributes to join their team and help with the expansion of their operations and create an in-house body repair facility. Apprentices will also be considered!As their vehicle technician / mot tester you will be involved in all aspects of maintenance and repairs of vehicles, carrying out routine servicing and diagnostic checks.The working hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 – 17:00. You will also receive 28 days holiday including bank holidays and free parking.Key duties:

  • Carrying out checks on vehicles to find out if repairs are necessary and how urgent they are
  • Estimating the time and cost required for carrying out the repair work
  • Testing vehicles to check that the repairs have been successful. Sometimes this will require a road test
  • Carrying out annual MOTs on all vehicles older than three years (Not essential)
  • Carrying out standard servicing of vehicles
  • Updating maintenance records of vehicles
  • Working with databases of stock and ordering necessary parts
    • What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician.
  • Full driving licence
  • Ideally be qualified in MOT testing (not essential)
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and mechanical systems
  • Strong communication & time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to organise your own work
  • Having your own tools would be desirable.
