18 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)Are you someone who is passionate about data and transformationAt Saint-Gobain Digital, we are looking for a Director of Data & Analytics to lead a talented and innovative Data team to create customer and business value as part of a digital transformation.As Director of Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Data Engineers, Governance Specialists, BI Developers and Data Analysts/Scientists to drive Saint-Gobain UK&Is data and AI roadmap. You will be accountable for settingand delivering strategy, managing relationships with internal and external providers of our data platforms, and act as the technical SME on all questions AI, engineering, and data within SG UK&Is Senior Leadership team.You are a technical lead with a keen eye for future technologies, with the ability to communicate long-term vision effectively to varying levels of audiences. You will be responsible for the technical and strategic ownership of the data technology stack,governance & master data operating models, BI & AI models, as well as internal processes under an Agile development framework.You will be the technical subject matter expert in creating the architecture and infrastructure roadmap for enabling production, and you will be accountable for the roadmap on the evolution of the Digital Data teams development, deliverables, and technologystack.You will have responsibility in engaging with and influencing the roadmap of our global partners: both internal and external to Saint-Gobain.In addition, you are responsible for developing team members both from a technical and soft skill perspective, and act as a champion of the data strategy in the wider business. • Strong strategic mindset and the ability create a delivery roadmap from a high-level objective
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to relate work to the bigger picture scenario
• Extensive experience in managing groups/projects, and developing team members
• Leading a technical team both from a technical leadership, as well as from a personal development/coaching perspective
• Proficient in using cloud computing and big data frameworks such as Hadoop/Spark, Azure/AWS/Google Cloud with specific focus on high levels of automation, source control and quality assurance
• Awareness of all main aspects of architecture, including functional/non-functional elements
• High levels of experience implementing engineering pipelines, CI/CD pipelines - maintaining engineering systems in production as part of an enterprise ecosystem
• High levels of experience in the master data and governance / data quality space
• High levels of experience with putting AI-systems into production, and maintaining production AI-systems
• Understand and communicate how data drives a business
• Good understanding of current software development methodologies and software development, Data Modelling and Design lifecycles
• Ability and desire to self-learn and pick up emerging technologies
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including other areas of technology teams (i.e. Product Ownership, DevOps, Testing, Application Support)
• Demonstrated experience in agile delivery environments (Kanban, Scrum etc.)
• Understanding of the principles of Data Governance and GDPR, and the ability to incorporate them into technical designs
• Organizational skills including aligning all requirements with objectives of a business
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills - ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences (fluent English)
• Ability to develop strong relationships with others
• Strong team player and creative thinking skills, and a desire to "make a difference"
• Proven ability to work and deliver key results under pressure
• Proven ability to motivate team members, and tailor coaching methods to individual needs
• Positive attitude and outlook and enjoy working as part of a team to share knowledge and ideas

Desirable

• Degree in numerical discipline i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics etc.
• Robust programming experience in Python/R/SQL to implement solutions
