From massive changes to tiny tweaksmaking a difference is what keeps us driven.It started at a pub in Bolton with a £1 bet and a belief that things could be done better!More About the Assistant Payroll Manager Role:We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our busy and established Payroll department.You will assist the Group Payroll Manager with the operational running of the Groups payroll operation. You will also be managing a team of 2 payroll administrators.This position is responsible for taking charge of all Payroll queries and processing for our Group, including our German operations so experience of payroll operations outside the UK would be useful.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience working within a busy Payroll department and looking to take their career to the next level whilst working under an experienced Group Payroll Manager.Heres What You Can Expect To Be Doing As an Assistant Payroll Manager:Youll be reporting into our Group Payroll Manager and leading a small team of AOers engaged in data preparation and the processing of payments of salaries and expenses; prioritising the work of your team to ensure defined standards, timetables and set deadlinesare met including:

  • Review of Payroll entries prepared by other team members
  • Pre & Post payroll checking
  • Ad-hoc reporting
  • End to end Payroll cover for times of business needs i.e. holiday cover.
  • Payment Adjustmentsover and underpayments
  • Pre & post payroll audits to highlight errors
  • Calculations for all employeesincluding manual calculations
  • BACS payments and transactions
  • Pension Administration
A Few Things About Our Assistant Payroll Manager:
  • Youll ideally have recognised payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent)
  • Youll need previous experience in payroll, ideally in a large payroll function.
  • Youll have used a payroll system such as ADP
  • Youll have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and a keen eye for detail.
  • Youll have knowledge and awareness of pension schemes and Auto Enrolment when providing administration would be useful
  • Excellent communication skills are a must as youll need to build relationships outside the Payroll team
