Job Description

We are recruiting an exciting workforce change manager interim for a newly established Government Department.This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of a key departmental change programme. Working as part of a supportive cross-functional team in the new Integrated Corporate Services, you will help shape and support the delivery of the people andculture aspects of the move of London-based colleagues to a new London location and ensure the hybrid working policy is being adhered to across locations.This is a brilliant opportunity to make a difference to the way the new Departments will operate, ensuring colleagues are engaged and supported before, during and after the move. The roles will provide the opportunity to gain an overview of key CorporateServices functions and how they operate post Machinery of Government change, including Estates, HR, Health Safety and Wellbeing and Communications.Key duties/tasks that the candidate will be responsible for:Supporting the design and delivery of a programme of engagement for senior leaders, line managers and staff to help prepare for the upcoming London office move, including providing support to the following activities:

  • leading on stakeholder engagement and product development, including Senior Civil Servants and staff briefing materials, guidance and FAQs.
  • Managing the change, engagement and communications plans for the people and culture aspects of the move.
  • engagement with key stakeholders on the move, including our staff networks on helping to smooth the transition for colleagues across two Government Departments
  • providing input to regular progress updates to Governance Boards, including ExCo, Permanent Secretaries and the London Moves Steering Group.
  • Designing and delivering workshops and engagement sessions to support staff with adapting to ways of working and embedding culture change
  • Use change management skills and techniques to ensure staff are aware of change and able to adapt to it.
Skills, experience and qualifications (Essential)
  • Organisational Development/Learning and Development experience
  • Change Management/Communications experience
  • Are self-motivated and highly organised, with an ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively at pace.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a strong team ethic and are confident adapting to change - as a team we often work across portfolios (and Departments!) and need to flex our approach to priorities at short notice.
