Job Description

Advanced Nurse PractitionerLocation: LondonSalary: £70,000 per annum + benefitsAdvanced Nurse PractitionerThis is mainly a Monday to Friday role with some weekend shifts too, in addition to potential night-based shifts in the future as the service continues to developAdvanced Nurse PractitionerThe Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in collaboration with consultants and the multidisciplinary team will provide direct patient care within a specialist surgical hospital, and support the Director of Advanced Practice in delivering key performance targets.The role will be responsible for the delivery of care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services across specialisms including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurologic, Spinal, Gastrointestinal,and Orthopaedics surgery.Advanced Nurse PractitionerWhat will your duties include

  • Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations, initiates appropriate lab, imaging tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients and hospital admissionsto establish a record of the patients current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Initiates and interprets, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from normal, common laboratory, imaging, and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes.
  • Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, blood draws, designated IV starts, managing simple conditions produced by infection or trauma, assisting in the management of more complex illness and injury which mayinclude assisting surgeons in conducting operations and taking initiative in performing evaluation and therapeutic procedures in response to life-threatening situations.
  • Performs medication reconciliation and prescribes medication according to policies, and within the independent prescribers scope of practice.
  • Performs specialized procedures following approval, such as biopsies, spinal taps, thoracentesis, paracentesis or other specific procedures.
What we need from you
  • Current regulatory body registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, with no restrictions to practice, required
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice from an accredited university required.
  • Independent Prescriber, Including V300 course, required.
  • IRMER certification, required.
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS), required.
