Job Description

Contract Requirement: Server Engineer - Outside of IR35Location: South London, must be willing to work on-siteDay Rate: £300 - £340 per day Outside of Ir35Duration: End of March 2022The Server Engineer will be:

  • Capable of helping with building and testing a new Citrix solution from the ground up
  • Leading on migrations of production systems (both physical and Virtual on to our new VMWare vSAN environment
  • Driving delivery and following the required processes, including forward planning, technical design authority and change control
  • Lead on interactions with relevant support suppliers and system owners to achieve the end goal
  • Implementing standard server build requirements, including, windows patching, monitoring (PRTG), backups (VEEAM) and other standards as defined by operations
  • Responsible for ensuring the application being migrated is tested appropriately and all dependencies are captured
  • Will estimate for delivery of work with the Infrastructure Manager and the Head of Infrastructure to set target dates and report on progress, identifying any risks/issues are highlighted and how they are best mitigated.
Server Engineer Technical skills:
  • Proven expertise in: VMWare, vSAN, HyperV, Windows Server OS, Active Directory & Group Policy Citrix, Windows server patching
  • Strong documentation skills, understanding of server application architecture and interdependencies
  • Additional skills: proven expertise in Powershell, PRTG, MS SQL, Dell Storage Infrastructure (EqualLogic & Compellent SANs), TrueNas, Veeam, InTune & SCCM. System Integration
  • Configuring Layer 2&3 Switches. Experience of Extreme Network devices & Palo Alto Firewall
