Job Description

6 month contract or full-time permanent. London WC2. Immediate start (Spring 2021).We are looking for an engineer to join our central London team who will contribute to the delivery of TAUR’s first product: the electric road scooter. You will be expected to take ownership of a number of components, managing npi, up through shipment to customers.Usually the products aren’t as fun as this one! It’s an exciting time for us and any engineer would appreciate the challenges associated with bringing a product to market. Our founding team has experience of designing and manufacturing everything from light electric vehicles to electric cars.Why e-scooters

    • Requirements
  • Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of industry experience as a hardware design engineer shipping finished electronics into production.
    • Experience
  • High Proficiency in PCB Design software (Altium Designer strongly preferred)
  • Prove/disprove the viability of new concepts from first principles - including circuit modelling and calculations
  • Confident with mixed Signal design, testing, debugging
  • Understanding of embedded systems, communications protocols
  • Deep knowledge of RF based solutions, BLE, GSM, GPS, NFC
  • Exposure to embedded systems languages
  • Have worked directly with overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Experience taking designs through EMI/EMC testing on an exacting timeline
  • Demonstrable experience in hardware design for power electronics, particularly motor drives, inverters.
    • Any experience working within a startup, small team or, high paced environment is a bonus.Within the role you will be expected to:
  • Scope and work collaboratively with internal and external project teams
  • Schematic capture, Multi-Layer PCB Layout & Revisions
  • Bringup of pre-production hardware, fault finding, rework
  • Component library management and maintaining Bill of Materials
  • Supply Chain Mitigation
  • New Product Certification and Regulatory Testing
  • Carrying out Life Cycle Testing Programs and developing methodologies
  • Interacting with PCB assemblers and defining end-of-line procedures and production testers.
