Job Description

Senior Commercial Analyst | Permanent | £45,000 - £56,400 (incl. flex fund) + benefits | LondonWe are working with High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd for the recruitment of a Senior Commercial Analyst. HS2 is the largest and most exciting transport projects in Europe and the Senior Commercial Analyst will join the Economic and Commercial Analysis (ECA) team.The role will play a part in impacting design and procurement decisions by providing vital analytical support for operating and maintenance costs feeding into the main Department for Transport (DfT) business case. The role will model large data sets and leadanalysis relating to commercial viability of stations and the long-term passenger proposition and the Senior Commercial Analyst will develop case-studies, model benefits realisation, costs and revenue and provide detailed support around the design and developmentof commercial contracts.Main Duties:

  • As part of the ECA team, lead a work programme, delivering high-quality analysis and insight to the Department for Transport and HS2 Ltd across commercial, procurement and transport groups
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across HS2 Ltd relating to the provision of high-quality data, analysis, and evidence
  • Communicate project findings to key stakeholders and draw analytic conclusions on outputs from transport and commercial models
  • Interpret data from multiple sources for analysis and presentation to customer groups using various tools, models, and analysis techniques
  • Develop macro analysis, commercial case-studies, benefits realisation models, costs, and revenue models
  • Provide detailed support around the design and development of commercial contracts.
  • Manage a Junior Analyst including coaching and development
Person Specification:
  • Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or Statistics
  • Experience in Commercial Analysis, ideally from a rail background or transport background
  • Strong experience with investment appraisals, bids, and business cases
  • Wider commercial experience including retail, commercial development and JV would be desirable
  • Experience in Whole Life Cost (WLC) modelling for commercial decision-making
  • Experience in managing and interrogating complex data sets and models - ideally commercial or transport models.
  • Advanced Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python are desirable
