Summary£25,850 up to £33,000* per annum- This isnt supporting the frontline. This is the heart of the action. This is a really exciting opportunity for a highly organised and enthusiastic Press Office Assistant to join our vibrant and growing communications team based at our brand-new state-of-the-art Head Office in Tolworth, just off the A3 and with easy reachof Central London.With the pace of Lidl Great Britains growth continuing, our press office is getting busier by the day. This role provides a brilliant opportunity for someone to combine their passion for retail with a strong desire to work in communications. As a real peopleperson with strong communication and writing skills, you will thrive in this highly collaborative and multi-skilled role, which will provide the opportunity to work with many teams and individuals across the business. You will play an integral role withinthe team, support the day-to-day management of our press office, events and Consumer communications function.We offerour colleagues as much flexibility as their role allows andempower our teams to choose how and where they work best.For this particular role, you will be required to physically be in the office around 2 to 3 days per week. As part of your application, you will be asked to complete two online exercises taking approximately 10 minutes, designed to provide us with a more in-depth understanding of you and your potential as a member of our team.   • Manage and respond to incoming media enquiries and requests with support from Consumer Communications team
  • Support to send product sample requests by courier/post in response to journalists enquiries
  • Support with consumer communications project planning and execution
  • Monitor and compile all media coverage and manage ongoing reporting
  • Support with event logistics and coordination
  • Help to maintain and update Consumer website
  • Assist in compiling and developing documents, including press releases, presentations and background research
  • Maintain contact and relationships with media stakeholders
  • Build relationship and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
  • Support with agency management and day-to-day liaison
  • Monitoring news agenda and update team on key developments and updates
What youll need
  • Previous experience within a public relations/communications role is extremely advantageous but not necessary
  • A desire to work in the retail sector
  • Exceptional writing skills with proven experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly over the phone and on email
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
