Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) was established by the Institute of Applied Technology in 2006, an aim to meet the United Arab Emirates growing need for the skilled healthcare professionals.The college started by offering the Higher Diploma or BSc in the Nursing program and has since then expanded to offer other degree programs in Health Sciences including Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Radiology & Medical Imaging and the Emergency Health (Paramedic) and Psychology. FCHS has campuses based in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, and Al Gharbia in the UAE or Posting DescriptionFCHS requires Lab Technician for Psychology program with minimum 3-5 years of experience working in educational establishment. Lab Technician for the Psychology program is responsible for the operation, functioning and day to day organization of the Psychology labs. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the interview.Detailed Description Manages day-to-day operations of all teaching laboratories, including equipment preparation and maintenance, safety standards/training compliance Prepare and set up practical apparatus and lab required material as requested by teaching staff and pack away afterwards Prepare and oversee equipment scheduled for use during laboratory teaching sessions Repair apparatus where appropriate Perform technical duties related to the laboratory activities Assist students on the use and analysis of data using SPSS software Assist with preparation and/or lab cleanup for lecture demonstrations as appropriate Ensure with teaching staff labs are left in a safe and tidy state at the end of the day Oversee the collection and disposal of waste materials according to regulations Report any damage in the labs to the Science Lead Teacher Report any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor Order items as indicated by academic staff and ensure stocks of consumable items are kept at a good level Keep the departmental inventory updated & a record of items borrowed by individuals or departments Carry out a general stock take once a year Participate and contribute to the Laboratory achievement and goals through other related duties Assist in the creation of a culture of safety and environmental protection by performing work safely Keep the needs of learners at the center of all professional planning and decision-making Pursue further training and professional development as appropriate Demonstrate care and use of equipment, according to health and safety standards and practices, to teaching staff and students Ensure that all equipment and operations are audited to ensure highest levels of adherence to health and safety protocols Support teaching staff in the development and implementation of teaching modules and projects Train teaching staff and students in application and use of new equipment Coordinate with entity administration to determine equipment/consumables purchase priorities based on budget allowance, condition of existing equipment, and scheduled laboratory activities Implement any changes to the lab facilities necessary to improve science lab experiment Uphold the code of conduct and all policiesJob Requirements Candidates must have a Master in Psychology, 3-5 years of experience working in educational establishment of working in educational establishment on Psychology related projects. Demonstrated success working in educational institution Experience of working directly with undergraduate students an advantage Demonstrated experience with general laboratory operations and safety standards, and laboratory management.IELTS academic band of 7 is a must for Non Fluent English Speakers. All candidates must obtain the Equivalency certificate for their highest qualification/from the MOE, UAE.
