Part-time term-time onlySalary: £40.85 per hourContract type: Fixed term for 3 yearsJob reference: 21/041Immediate startJunior Academy offers outstanding tuition to young, talented musicians on Saturdays during term time at Royal Academy of Music, oneof the UKs foremost music conservatoires. First String Experience (FSE) is a long-established first access musicianship and bowed string teaching programme for 4 to 7 year olds.We seek to appoint a part-time hourly-paid Lead Upper Strings Tutor to teach upperstrings to small groups of 5 to 6 pupils, as well as participating in other duties such as concerts, as required by the FSE Director.The Tutor will also be responsible for delivering and assisting with the development of a new initiative, Community First StringsExperience (CFSE), which will take the FSE programme into two London-based primary schools from September 2021 over a three-year period. The CFSE programme plans to work with 90 children in its first year, taking on a new cohort each September to 2023-24.By 2023-24, 270 children will be enrolled on CFSE, in addition to those learning at the Academy on Saturdays. CFSE will start at 0.5 day and grow to 2 days per week (Tuesday and one other day TBC).The successful applicant will provide expertise in the areaof violin/viola, integrated with musicianship teaching from the earliest stages of learning.
