Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Financial Controller to work within a Law enforcement organisation. Based near Charring Cross. Hybrid model 40% in the office within the month. Monday - Friday. Start asap (dependant on vetting) for 6 months. £20.04ph.

  • Provide direction to staff within the financial control team.
  • Ensuring that suppliers, staff and witnesses are paid promptly and correctly.
  • Preparation of schedules and tables for input into the annual accounts, ensuring these are produced in line with the agreed timetable and to the required standard.
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset register, ensuring that it is reconciled to the General Ledger on a monthly basis and ensuring all approvals are in place.
  • Lead on the compilation of monthly returns in compliance with existing Cabinet Office requirements on spending controls and transparency returns.
  • To identify and deliver improvements in the work of the financial control team.
  • Perform the role of system administrator for the SFOs financial system - eFinancials and its related modules, and support and advise users of eFinancials and ensure that a programme for training new users in put in place.
Essential Experience:
  • Current experience of working within a Finance Department, with evidence of preparing financial statements preferably in a central government context.
  • Experience of working with Oracle, SAP or similar with experience of managing the month end close.
  • Experience of managing accounts payable function, with strong people management skills and an ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver.
