Job Description

Construction Support Manager - Fixed Term Contract (6 Months)Main purpose / scope of the roleOur business is searching for an experienced and self-driven Construction Support Manager. The Construction Support Manager will work directly with our Head of Construction throughout England and will be responsible for performing a number of customer focused, project related and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with a professional demeanour, capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is as excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation with a competitive salary and future career development opportunities.This role will reside in one of our Regional hubs but occasional travel within England will be required to engage business colleagues and key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with key customers, business partners and key stakeholders including supporting the successful resolution of complaints
  • Communicate with managers, maintaining strong working relationships with other relevant departments
  • Prepare internal and external documents for team members and key stakeholders including monthly reports
  • Coordinate communications, including taking calls, responding to emails and letters
  • Organise team events
  • Solve simple IT problems and liaise with the IT department when necessary
  • Actively liaising with the Construction Managers and contributing to overall planning, data analysis, problem solving and project co-ordination
  • Monitoring progress against the Capital programme and liaise with the Construction Managers to ensure the plan remains on tra
  • Monitoring that the due diligence processes in place is being adhered to and reporting any discrepancies. E.g. contract signing process.
  • Support the formal governance processes for project reporting through monitoring of the Business case (IAP) process and reporting delays to key stakeholders.
  • Recording progress in line with the reporting framework and escalating issues of concern to the Head of Construction
  • Schedule the National and Regional Construction Team meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, keep records of actions, and follow up activity.
  • Set up and maintain project files and manage user access permissions on the SharePoint workspa
  • Establish document control procedures on Sharepoint
  • Support the Capital Plan Manager in collecting finance data and assist at the monthly review meetings attended by Senior Management.
  • Manage the compilation of monthly project reports, project reviews, assist the Construction Managers with queries and report stats to the Head of Construction.
  • Monitor that the Customer Feedback surveys are being sent out, liaise with the Customer team, analyse, report progress to the Construction team and identify shortfalls.
  • Assist the Construction Managers with queries relating to the IT systems and any general related queries.
  • Assist the Head of Construction and Support team on Special projects and programmes which may arise or that is ongoing
  • Manage diaries and travel itineraries where required.
  • Keep updated with events that are happening in the business and circulate updates to the Construction Team as and when is required.
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Essential skills and experience:
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an Operational Support Manager or similar, reporting directly to senior management
  • Happy working alone and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
  • Comfortable coaching others with obvious leadership capability
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels of the organisation
  • Confident facilitating meetings for a range of stakeholders, capable of creating and delivering engaging presentations and participating in webinars
  • Positively embraces and leads change, acting as a role model to others
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties
