Job Description

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with a fantastic, independent charity dedicated to giving disadvantaged children the literacy skills the need to succeed in their search for their new Digital Engagement Manager.Post Marketing Campaign ManagerLocation Hybrid working, in the London office two days per weekContract 12 month contract position as the role is a funded role however there is expectation for the post to exist in the long termSalary £34,000Deadline 30th NovemberOne person in six has poor literacy skills that impact on every area of their life. A child without good reading, writing and communication skills will struggle to succeed at school, and as an adult they could be locked out of the job market. Poverty doublesthe likelihood that, by the age of five, a childs literacy skills will be below average.This fantastic organisation gives children and young people from disadvantaged communities the literacy skills to succeed in life. They work with schools and other education settings, with communities and partners, and directly with children and families.Their research and analysis make them the leading authority on literacy and drive their interventions.As Campaign Manager you will focus on managing the delivery of campaigns and communications activity to support NLTs early years work, including Start for Life in 12 targeted areas across the country. This will involve developing campaign strategies thatuse a range of innovative channels to spread impactful key messages among communities and affect behaviours among target demographics. The postholder will support early years campaign activity to build the National Literacy Trusts reputation as a leader inthe early years and home learning environment space.Other core responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee planning and delivery of integrated early years behaviour change campaigns in National Literacy Trust Hubs and Start for Life target areas
  • Work with local partners to identify campaign goals and target audiences
  • Use a range of channels relevant to target audience to disseminate campaign messaging, both on the ground and online
  • Develop campaign plans with partners and monitor them to ensure that activity is taking place
  • Work with the early years team to manage website content, parent e-newsletters and resources for local areas
  • Support drafting and release of press content to support work of delivery partners and promote local campaigns
  • Maintain and create close working relationships with press and communications team to ensure that wider organisational messaging and branding are consistent
  • Maintain and build partnerships with local media (including broadcast, online, press and parenting) to disseminate messaging
  • Develop, execute and evaluate a social media plan to reach target audiences in Hub and Start for Life areas
  • Ensure local and regional campaigning activity is profiled across the National Literacy Trusts social media channels
  • Ensure campaigns are represented on the National Literacy Trust website
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with the following skills and experience:
  • Recent experience working as a Campaigns Manager or Officer or in a communications role with campaigning responsibilities
  • Experience of activating community engagement
  • Experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating campaigns
  • Experience of developing key messages aimed at changing consumer behaviours
  • Working with case studies and beneficiaries to share their story and secure media coverage of their experiences
  • Experience of managing digital and social media accounts and planning and executing digital campaigns
  • Experience of using content management systems
  • Experience of writing for different audiences and contexts
