We want to create an uplifting, one-of-a-kind experience for all of our customers - both big and small - and are looking for a friendly, forward-thinking chef to create & deliver a menu that keeps everybody happy & healthy.Who we are looking for:Were looking for someone creative, whos able to introduce children to a wide range of culinary styles, celebrating Londons diversity. Our chef must also be experienced in meeting the special dietary requirements of all of our customers and meeting our childrens nutritional needs. To be successful in this role, you will; Go Beyond, Be Outstandingly Outstanding and Play as a Team.Responsible for all production of food on the premises, youll be working closely with the Chefs at our other nurseries to see that policies and procedures are embedded in the way the kitchen operates. Food and nutrition are a core part of our educational approach and our menus are designed to broaden and challenge our childrens tastes.Day to day you will:

  • Cook fresh and inspiring food for our children from 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday
  • Constantly develop and evolve our menu, in a cost-effective manner
  • Create fun and nutritional snacks and dishes for all children attending the nursery, including those with specific dietary requirements (3 snacks/meals a day)
  • Spread and promote healthy messaging and ideas around food
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service and maintain a positive rapport with children and parents
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are in compliance with Environmental Health & Ofsted guidelines and that all relevant records are kept in line with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards
  • Work flexibly to cook for events outside of core hours from time to time - there will be some evening/weekend hours

  • Ability to work quickly and effectively during busy service times
  • Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition and ability to work to the nursery budget for each child
  • Previous experience in cooking to a commercial level / or a nursery kitchen
  • Ideally, Food Hygiene NVQ Level 2 qualified
