Operations ManagerLocation: Cwmbran, NP44 3AX, South WalesSalary: Negotiable, D.O.E. + Company CarContract: Permanent, Full timeHours: Monday-Thursday: 8am - 5pm / Friday: 8am - 2.30pmAbout the companyWoodside Joinery is a family business that has a long tradition of specialising in the creation of high-quality bespoke staircases and staircase furniture. Our staircases are designed, hand-crafted and fitted by some of the countrys finest craftsmen. Wecombine knowledge, skill and passion to create staircases that will become the focal point of your home. Woodside Joinery operates throughout the UK and can offer a complete joinery service to include doors, lining, architrave and skirting.Operations Manager - About the role:This is a high-profile role within the business and the successful applicant will be tasked with maximising efficiency and productivity throughout the operational arm of Woodside Joinery (Staircases) Limited.Duties: Having oversight of the workshop and production and ensuring targets/deadlines are met. This will be directly monitored and pushed by three workshop-based supervisors who will co-ordinate with the Operations Manager regularly, with regards to prioritisationand any issues arising in the Workshop Dealing with Disciplinary issues should they arise. Working with the Office Manager to develop a HR recruitment strategy. Creating worksheets and co-ordinating workload with the Workshop Supervisors. Assisting the Detailed Designer/Surveyor with design queries and extra surveys where necessary (the office manager will also be taking on some of the more local survey work). Co-ordinating and managing the supply chain to ensure sufficient stock levels are present for current workload Organising fitting schedules (co-ordinating with clients to achieve this) and directly managing the fitting teams. Ensure that team are commercially aware, driving work to deliver set SLAs Liaise with team to ensure the agreed methods, standards and processes are maintained throughout the numerous contracts / project lifecycles.Operations Manager - Person specification:Required: Previous experience in a similar managerial role, within a manufacturing business. Must be able to work autonomously and make executive level decisions. Understanding of Business processes including Ops, HR, project management etc. Have experience interacting with customers in a professional manner. Must be willing to travel on occasion to meet customers at their sites across the UK when needed. Have experience of developing a good working relationship with staff and getting the best out of them. Experience of coaching a diverse team to achieve high performance outcomes. Experience in driving a team to deliver company SLAs. Experience of setting and managing budgets. Commercial astuteness. Strong attention to detail.Desired: Experience of managing a business within the carpentry/joinery industry. Familiar with the Production and Manufacturing methods used in a carpentry/joinery business Some experience in CAD design would be beneficial. Experience surveying and measuring sites.
