Sourcing Category Manager - Logistics

Job Description

The Opportunity:Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Sourcing, Logistics and Warehousing, as the Sourcing Category Manager - Logistics, you will manage sub-categories across Logistics, including Airfreight, Seafreight, Road Freight, Courier, Freight Forwarders, Third-party Logistics, and Logistics Packaging. You will develop category managementstrategies across the entire CSL Logistics organization (CSL Behring, CSL Seqirus, and CSL Vifor) to ensure best possible value for CSL while managing risk and maintaining compliance in sourcing practices. You will support domestic, regional, and global sourcingprojects and bid activities, guide important transformational projects, and maintain relationships with main internal CSL Group partners, and external vendors. You will foster open collaboration with partners and service providers to ensure the most optimalsolutions are achieved.The Role:Global and Procurement Strategy Planning:

• Develop and implement annual Category strategies and action plans for relevant sub-categories based on the Procurement Strategy and other relevant business strategies within CSL to ensure clear goals and action plans for Global Category Management roleresulting in the reduction of the total cost of ownership and risk, while increasing innovation, customer service, compliance, and quality.
• Apply Logistics and Supply Chain industry-based experience to support CSL Partners and evaluate their strategic options and identify cost-saving programs.

Category and Bid Management:

• Create value from the global category(s) by defining and implementing category management strategies; manage Councils for business-critical commodities aligned with the evolving requirements and leading main sourcing activities, including negotiations,to deliver lower cost of ownership and ensure saving targets are met, lower risk, higher quality, and better supply performance.
• Manage the sourcing and supplier selection process, including creating a RFx sourcing project, researching and developing supplier bid list, and assembling and managing RFx project team through the process.
• Lead complex business negotiations with suppliers, including global partners as directed, and provide advice for regional sourcing. Manage the contract execution process together with Legal and internal partners.
• Conduct business with integrity, following the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and anti-bribery requirements, and support diversity and inclusion by promoting use of small, disadvantaged and diverse suppliersin addition to supporting CSL sustainable sourcing goals and standards.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM):

• Establish SRM processes with suppliers within the category observing supplier segmentation, including risk management strategies following global policies, to enhance long-term relationships and innovations with suppliers to deliver required supply, quality,service, continuous improvement, and progress while minimizing costs for CSL and develop processes to measure value beyond savings following CSL’s values and Procurement strategy.
• Implement Global procedures to ensure execution of sourcing activities in compliance with CSL Sourcing Policy, Code of Responsible Business Practices, and all other compliance standards.

Supply Performance Management:

• Monitor Supply Performance Indicators and conducting regular Operational Reviews observing Procurement’s Governance processes with supporting analysis from the Center of Excellence.
• Provide performance and non-compliance issue escalation support, including dispute resolution, to de-risk service provision and prevent impact to production, quality, compliance or safety of product, operation, equipment or facility.

Partner Relationship Management:

• Develop professional relationships including senior company partners and senior external executives within large vendors to deliver upon Procurement’s goals by ongoing discussions and participation in formal teams and groups with senior leaders in CSL andexternal vendors to manage supplier performance, issues, procurement improvement programs and other broader business issues.
• Represent Global Sourcing as a SME to provide Procurement advice and coaching to internal business customers, representing the discipline to support business compliance.
• Assure proactive working relationship with internal Logistics teams to identify external capability to support strategic sourcing opportunities.

Drive Innovation:

• Lead global transformation projects and continuous improvement projects to ensure the delivery of targeted benefits.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing or relevant Logistics category experience.
• Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM, CIPS) or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating complex national supply agreements.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry or related industry preferred but not essential.
