Network Engineer based from Liverpool

FPSGs Client have a current need for an experienced Network Engineer to be based from the Liverpool area, with occasional travel to other locations when the need arises.As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of the organisation to ensure maximum uptime for users. The scope of this role can include designing system configurations,documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all networkhardware, software, and communication links. We hope this sounds of interest!Technical Skills we are looking for:Hands on experience of network design, implementation & support within a large organization including WAN, LAN & WLAN setupsExperience with design & configuration of Cisco, Juniper, Aruba routers, wireless controllers & switchesKnowledge of infrastructure cabling schemes, the medias & technology usedWorking knowledge on routing & bridging protocols, authentication protocols like TACACS, RADIUS, LDAP etc.Experience with load balancing platforms like Riverbed, Big-IP F5, Cisco CSS, Avi Networks etc.Experience with firewall platforms like Fortigate/Palo Alto/Juniper/Checkpoint/Sophos/ASAExperience with MAC filtering, MAC binding, web filtering, DHCP, DNS. Policy management, firmware updatesDesign, implement, and support firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPNs Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industryMonitoring of network infrastructure with native & 3rd party tools like Solar Winds, Wireshark etc.Experience in implementing and managing voice over IP (VoIP) systems desired.Familiar with IT Service Management process and tool (Service Now, Remedy)Knowledge or experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, SQL, Python) is a plusIdeal Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus significant practical experience of Information Technology in an industrial setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Multiple IT technical certifications preferred. Eg. - CCIE/F5 LTM/SDWAN/NSX7+ years hands-on experience in Network Infrastructure ManagementProven experience in leading and running multiple IT projects using formal methodologies such as SDLC, including familiarity with project management tools and techniques.Excellent communication skills to ensure decisions, priorities and relevant project information is shared across appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives.Experience with managing and supervising staff and the third-party vendor resources to ensure high standards of work quality and productivity in accordance with current company policies, procedures and regulations.Understanding of compliance and regulatory standards e.g. GLP, GMP and CDC guidelinesProficient in analysing and troubleshooting problems; identifying solutions; and recommending and implementing methods, procedures and techniques for resolution and elimination of root cause.Reward:Excellent starting salaries and packages will be discussed with Network Engineers who can demonstrate a close match to the skills and experience requested.
