Job Description

Job Title: Learning Support AssistantLocation: Merseyside (various locations)Salary: £14+ per hourContract: rest of the academic yearDo you want to make a difference in their educational journey Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!Reed Further Education are recruiting Learning Support Workers in Merseyside, full or part time for the rest of the academic year.Role Overview:As a Learning Support Assistant (SEN), you will play a crucial role in facilitating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for students with special educational needs. Your dedication will directly impact their educational journeyand personal growth. You’ll collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within an extended range of networks and partnerships to broker support and learning opportunities and improve the quality of services to all students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to provide targeted support to students with additional needs.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence among students.
  • Support students during class activities, exams, and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Passion: A genuine desire to support students with SEN.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN Diploma).
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and empathy.
  • Adaptability: Patience and flexibility.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an educational setting is advantageous
