Job Description

Finance Officer - Work from home - Liverpool - 3 month contract - £18.51 per hour PAYEWe are currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to work for a public sector organisation based in Liverpool on a work from home basis on a 3 month contract. This role would be especially suited to candidates with experience of working within the public sector.Key duties:

  • To assist in the transformation and development of financial management across the organisation and to the delivery of financial management services to external customers and partners.
  • Under managerial direction provide appropriate and detailed financial advice to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Under managerial direction assist in the development of financial skills across the organisation
    • Skills and experience:
  • Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant CCAB (preferably CIPFA); or AAT qualified (or equivalent or suitable qualifying experience
  • Knowledge of financial software packages
  • Experience of working within finance for a public sector organisation is highly desirable
  • Ability to prepare budgets and final accounts
  • Experience of providing budgetary control and unit cost information.
  • Experience of providing financial information and advice to budget holders/non-finance managers.
  • Experience of staff management and supervision in a financial environment.
  • Local authority finance experience is highly desirable
