Job Description

Adele Carr is looking for a Finance Manager to join a large UK based manufacturing business in Liverpool on a full time basis.The purpose of this role is to be responsible for financial reporting and systems with a hands on style being necessary to ensure all financial controls, reporting systems and budgeting is accurate, in place and on time.The successful applicant will work alongside the Managing Director and Finance Director as a key member of the leadership team.The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Oversee the accounting function, generating monthly management accounts and forecasts, and providing in-depth analysis for presentation to the group.
  • Manage statutory accounts, the management accounts pack, and corporate reporting responsibilities.
  • Implement financial policies pertaining to capital, debt, taxation, pension, and insurance management.
  • Develop annual budgets, statutory accounts, and monthly forecasts within the UK context.
  • Contribute to the company strategy across all areas of the UK business, offering financial analysis and guidance for various activities.
  • Ensure the robustness of company financial systems, supporting current operations and ensuring compliance for audit purposes.
  • Verify the accuracy of product costs to reflect actual business activity.
  • Establish and maintain the necessary Management Information (MI) infrastructure to support business growth and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with managers and the Board of Directors to enhance business sales and profitability.
  • Effectively manage cash and working capital.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from all statutory bodies.
  • Uphold credibility and manage strong working relationships with external advisors.
  • Take the lead in pension scheme updates and processing.
  • Assume responsibility for addressing business IT issues, coordinating with sub-contractors for necessary support.
Key skills & Experience:
  • Strong commercial acumen and technical proficiency.
  • Leadership experience in financial departments, demonstrating a proactive and change-oriented approach.
  • Previous involvement in internal payroll management with HR support.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly high-level Excel skills and experience in modeling.
  • Previous hands-on experience in ERP implementation and system optimization.
  • The ability to excel under pressure, making critical decisions when necessary.
  • Commitment to upholding good governance with a focus on high integrity and openness.
  • Energetic, motivated, and a commitment to achieving excellence.
  • Previous experience in a similar work environment.
