Job Description

The University Community at Liverpool is diverse and multi-cultural and at them they wish to offer something for everyone. They want to understand what all of their members want and how their own backgrounds and heritage affect and impact upon their time at University. They have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan which outlines how they are tryingto ensure that all of their staff and members all feel equally supported, welcomed and included. It also outlines how they are seeking to remove barriers to this goal.Their EDI Assistant - Events; will work primarily within their Democracy and Campaigns Team (also having close working with the Events and Marketing teams), and assist with the delivery of events and networks to support them in delivering its EDI objectives.The postholder will assist in briefing elected officers on EDI committees, contribute to researching and devising a diverse events programme and generally contribute positively to the organisations EDI development.The EDI Assistant - Events will work with their Marketing team to carry out specific EDI research when required, and also work within the Democracy and Campaigns team in delivering actions defined by input from their student members. This may include providingadministration support for the liberation networks, supporting EDI campaign actions, as well as working alongside colleagues to support and implement relevant events and festivals of activity.They are especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups, and those who have experience working with diverse populations.
