Job Description

This rolewill support the Data Protection Officer across a broad range of areas.Role: Deputy Data Protection OfficerHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pmLocation: Liverpool with Hybrid working availableSalary: £25,000- £45,000 DOEWhat you’ll be doing:•Support the team in providing considered and practical advice to the business on a broad range of data protection related matters.•Support incident management, assessing risk and ensuring regulatory deadlines are met.•Support the DPO to develop the Data Protection compliance monitoring programme for Data Protection across the Group working collaboratively with the business.•Support the DPO in working collaboratively with project teams to ensure Privacy by Design requirements are met and privacy risks are managed.•Lead, support and participate in working groups that promote privacy and provide ongoing support across the organisation.•Support the DPO in the delivery of training and awareness of Data Protection across the Group.•Support the DPO with the development of existing Policy Documentation, Processes Notices and Procedures and related practical guidance.•Keep up to date with the latest changes in applicable legislation, industry news and guidance.•Any other task as may be defined by the DPO to meet the operational needs of the Data Protection team.What we’re looking for:•Expert knowledge of UK data protection law including direct marketing. Preferably hold an industry recognized qualification e.g. Data Protection Practitioner/ CIPP/e•Practical experience of two years or more in developing and implementing data protection related policies, processes and procedures as part of a privacy program.•Experience and the ability to design and delivery specialist role-based training.•Experience in working collaboratively with project teams to ensure Privacy by Design and Default requirements are being met.•Manage Privacy risks effectively via Data Protection Impact Assessments, Legitimate Interest Assessments and Transfer Risk Assessments.•Able to provide risk based, considered and practical advice to the business on a broad range of Data Protection related matters.•Able to apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information for Horizon Scanning.•Strong Verbal and Written communication skills with a proven track record in stakeholder management.•Drive and determination to complete work to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.About Acorn InsuranceWe are a growing business with great opportunities to build your knowledge of the financial services industry.
