Job Description

Data Modeler£47,500LiverpoolShortList Recruitment are on the lookout for a Data Modeler to join a fantastic non-for-profit organisation based in Liverpool.Working as part of the data team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of the Data Warehouse databases to meet organisational needs using conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support the delivery of intelligent business information through a range of mechanisms, in particular self-serve tools for use by stakeholders.You will define and govern data modelling and design standards, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models, working with the Data Architect to design databases, data models and data marts.Strong understanding in industry-recognised data modelling patterns and standards, and a strong background in data modelling are essential for the role.Key skills the Data Modeler should have:

  • Proven experience of working as part of a team to deliver a strategic enterprise data warehouse
  • Design databases, data models and data marts (data products) based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods. Create repeatable and reusable products
  • Deliver data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable and future-proof
  • Understand the concepts and principles of data modelling and can produce, maintain and update relevant data models for specific business needs
  • Work with metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis
  • Results focused with the ability to take ownership of tasks
  • Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
  • Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business
  • Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement.
