Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced engineer with both mechanical and electrical backgrounds and skills to work on our range of lathes, mills and drills. Manual (non-CNC) turning, milling and light fabrication skills will be necessary and the positionwill be predominately workshop based with some occasional customer site visits from time to time. Technical Requirements: You will have a mechanical engineering background You will be proficient in electrical 240v and 440v and electrical controls You willneed to be able to wire up machinery, conforming to current electrical safety standards You will be able to undertake metalworking tasks including drilling, tapping and fitting accessories onto machines. Use your metalworking background to solve workshop issues,find and rectify faults Carry out testing and commissioning of new machines Check machines against specification and quality criteria Fabrication of parts and undertake general metalworking tasks Carry out refurbishment of used machinery Experience with QualityAssurance systems and procedures would be advantageous Occasional client site visits for repairs, specialist installs and collections will be required Provide technical support to the sales team and direct with customer You Must have: A positive can do attitudeand good communication and interpersonal skills Practical experience in a comparable role Good telephone manner and be comfortable dealing with customer technical queries Be a flexible, adaptable, team worker and able to work safely and without supervisionunder you own initiative Be committed to delivering a high level of customer service Provide holiday, sickness and general cover during busy periods in the warehouse as required Be computer literate Possess a clean UK drivers licence
