Job Description

Learning Support Assistant - School£19,513 plus £150 shift allowance, FTE (£16,790 plus £129.07 shift allowance, pro rata)2 roles available x 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term-Time OnlyFixed Term Contract until Sept 2021About UsYoung Epilepsy is the only UK charity dedicated to creating better lives for children and young people with epilepsy and related conditions and is based on a beautiful campus in Lingfield, Surrey, providing world class services.Your roleYou will assist our Tutors in the delivery of the curriculum and actively contribute towards the provision of the learning environment. As an integral member of a transdisciplinary team, you will maximise individual learning opportunities and outcomes, allowing students to grow and gain independence through the creation of a safe and caring atmosphere.What we need from you

  • You will have Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (or equivalent), along with CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or NVQ 3 in Teaching Assistants (or equivalents) or will be working towards
  • Be able to plan for and provide learning activities to the learner group when required
  • Be able to provide and ensure the consistency of care and support to the learner group
  • Have proven experience of promoting learning, assessing learning and recording learner progress and achievement
  • Knowledge of specialist areas such as autism, epilepsy and PMLD is also required
