Job Description

Are you a hard-working individual with experience working in a busy kitchen Do you want to work in an environment where you can help make a difference in the lives of our residentsCatering assistants within our older peoples homes assist and support catering staff in the day-to-day operation of the service, as directed, to ensure a high standard of food preparation.Working in a care home environment, you will not only be supporting from a catering point of view but will build relationships with our residents to ensure they are living happy, healthy and supported lives. Mealtimes are important to our residents and through working as a team, you can ensure they run smoothly and are enjoyable for our older people.The role is based in Service Delivery, which is the provider arm of the Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care directorate. Service Delivery provides direct care to individuals living in their own homes and in-house residential establishments across the county. The service is registered with the Quality Care Commission (CQC) and works in accordance with good practice guidance and standards.Our Vision is to provide outstanding services and be an employer of choice with highly trained, passionate and dedicated staff.We provide Care 24/7 in our 51 bedded residential home.Working with an enthusiastic team, ranging from all ages, cultures and experiences. Your role may require time interacting with residents. You will also have the opportunity to join in with internal events and entertainment with the residents, as well as an extensive range of trips.We are a strong team that works with each other to provide the best possible care and environment for our residents, the home is rated Outstanding with CQC (November 2019), and we constantly thrive to achieve our residents wish lists.Experience is not essential for this role; full training will be provided. As long as you have the heart to care, you are already halfway there.
