Job Description

Starting Point Recruitment are currently requiting for a Quality Engineer based in the Staffordshire area.Salary:<£40kWorking Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (30-minute lunch), Friday, 8.30am to 12.30pmThe right candidate - The right candidate will demonstrate strong self-motivation and extensive experience in validating, certifying, and testing within design and manufacturing, upholding the highest standards. You will be working closely with theQuality Manager; you will ensure our products consistently meet top-notch quality and compliance criteria. The right candidate will need to have a proactive mindset and effective communication skills which will enable them to excel in both independent workand small group settings.Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) under AS9100D requirements.
  • Coordinate and handle New Product Introduction (NPI) related Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities with nominated suppliers, ensuring that all approvals are current and met within milestone dates.
  • Utilize good working knowledge of statistical techniques, including root cause analysis, process capability studies, and gauge R&R to support quality objectives.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), 8D (Eight Disciplines) problem-solving method, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to roll out necessary problem-solving techniques for Customers, Internaland suppliers.
  • Support the manufacturing quality team by validating permanent actions and changes and reporting them to the customer in 8D format.
  • Prepare and implement detailed Control Plans (CPs), Work Instructions (W/ls), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure they are fully controlled and updated in line with configuration management, Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and changemanagement systems.
Experience and Qualification Summary:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace industry Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in quality engineering and AS9100D
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards
  • Experience with internal auditing and non-conformance investigations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with supplier management is a plus.
  • Experience with aerospace regulations and standards is preferred.
