Job Description

Were supporting our clients as they adapt to a new world in the wake of COVID-19. Were now recruiting for roles which will help our clients to deliver vital services and to resume business wherever possible.Shaping the future of the British Army as a Part Time Medical Examiner in RPP:Capita has won the contract to supply the Army with recruits over a 10 year period. All potential recruits go through a medical screening process at 5 sites nationally. A Medical Examiner is required in our site at Litchfield.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for the work/life balance whilst still utilising their medical expertise every day!This role is 3 days a week (flex week to week) so would be ideal for someone still working as a GP part-timeWhat youll be doing:

  • Conduct clinical work, including face-to-face medical assessments and paperwork screening and appeals (80% of the time)
  • Assist the Lead Clinician with the management of employed, sessional and network clinicians on the RPP project, including but not limited to:
  • Training, governance and performance of the clinicians (20% of the time)
  • Assist the lead Clinician with the coaching of clinical staff to meet the productivity, quality and outcome measures to meet business objectives
  • Deputise for the Lead Clinical during any absences.
  • Help to identify resource needs and assist Lead Clinician and DCMO in clinician recruitment
  • Assist the Lead Clinician with clinical policies, protocols, and electronic reporting of screening solution
  • Work with external specialists e.g. Cardiologists where appropriate
  • Assist the Lead Clinician with first level appeal process and manage appeals within the agreed service standards.
  • Input to the clinical complaints investigation and reporting process
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
  • Liaise with Military Staff who conduct the non-medical aspects of selection process as to whether candidate is fit to carry out these tests.
  • What were looking for:
  • You must be a fully qualified Medical Practitioner with licence to practise
  • Ideally you would have general practice experience (Doctor, GP, General Practitioner)
  • IT literate using Microsoft Office Suite
  • An effective communicator both verbally and written
  • A strong team player
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines with an organised approach
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
