Job Title: Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care Location: WhittingtonDepartment: CommunitySalary: Dependent on experience - plus unsocial enhancementsWorking hours: Full time and part time hours available, hours to be worked over a seven day weekApplication review date:4th October2020We have a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join our Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialists in Palliative Care working within the community team. You will work as part of an integrated team of nurses and contribute to the overall care of patients and families referred to St Giles Hospice within the community setting.Specialising in the advisory component of this support you will have shared clinical responsibility for the patients within one area. As a team member you will contribute to a positive supportive working environment with an emphasis on team work and cooperation. You will provide a face to face and telephone service for patients and their families.We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate evidence-based practice, up to date clinical skills, flexibility and a commitment to the delivery of an effective and efficient nursing service. Your experience will have been gained in either community or inpatient settings and be transferable to your new role.You must be motivated, forward thinking and committed to patient care in providing clinical support to patients with long-term conditions and end of life care needs.Current NMC Registration, strong communication and team-working skills and an empathetic disposition are essential. You will have good I.T. skills and be organised in your approach to your workload. Care is offered in a variety of ways according to the individual’s needs and are offered out in the community as well as from 4 sites, inpatient units at Whittington and Walsall, with other day unit facilities at Sutton Coldfield, and Uttoxeter.We receive funding from the NHS but primarily we rely on fundraising activities and legacies, together with trading activities (26 Shops, Lottery and other trading) to support our work. We employ more than 400 people across a broad range of roles – from direct patient care to fundraising and administration as well as support from over 1400 volunteers to provide our services.
