Job Description

We’ll support you on your learning journey, from start to finish.You will be working for a software development organisation based in Preston. This is an exciting role as an apprentice working in a busy Marketing and Web Design company. You will join us as part of a small but expanding team, and your time will be spent supporting the team on the day-to-day management of the companys website and all subsidiary sites and related online activities.Your responsibilities as a Software Development Technician will include:

  • Designing websites for clients using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator
  • Maintaining and updating the companies websites as well as clients.
  • Developing websites for clients using HTML, CSS & WordPress
  • Optimising websites for search engines like Google.
    • Interested The qualifications/skills you should have:
  • 5 GCSEs A-C (other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills)
  • A-levels; a level 3 apprenticeship or other relevant qualification; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths
  • Knowledge of HTML is desirable
  • Knowledge or some experience with WordPress CMS
  • Good grasp of written English and grammar for content writing
  • An organised and self-motivated individual with the ability to work on own initiative and independently
  • Understanding or willing to learn about website design & development
  • Design skills are preferable
    • Typical work hours:Monday-Friday 9 am-5-pmWhat kind of training will you receiveTraining will take place in our classroom locations, online, and face to face with our mentors.
