Job Description

A specialist independent school based in the Leicesterhsire area is looking for a Qualified Teacher (including Primary) or ETCs who are confident at planning and delivering lessons from KS1-KS3. They need a candidate to start as soon as possible. The schoolprovides education and therapy for young people aged 8-18 years with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with ASC, ADHD, PMLD, PI and speech and language difficulties. Our comprehensive programme of tailored interventions is a fundamentalelement of the support which we provide.You will need to have (or demonstrate willingness to develop):

  • experience of working with children and young people
  • an understanding of SEND
  • ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils
  • be able to work on your own initiative
  • willing to learn and be adaptable
  • be passionate and willing to get involved with the school community - working as a team!

  • Driver
  • Has some experience working with pupils with SEND (even in mainstream settings)
  • Qualified Teacher status or ECT/NQT level
  • Passionate about supporitng children to reach their full potential
  • CPL on SEND or working towards CPL in the SEND field e.g. Autism Awareness
  • Confident
  • Team Player
  • Experienced teaching KS1 subjects or up to Functional Skills Level 1/2
