Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a NRSWA Inspector on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Leicestershire (LE9).The NRSWA Inspector role is to support the delivery of the organisationsresponsibility and the function of the Network Management Service by inspecting activities carried out on the highway in relation to regulationsDuties will include:

  • To inspect, report on and take remedial action on any reported network issues, as instructed or notified by Network Coordinator or Technician
  • To report any identified issues within: the Local Street Gazetteer and Associated Street Data to the Network Coordinator and the Street Works Register or associated interfaces, such as ELGIN, to the Network Manager for assessment and resolution
  • To liaise with the Network Coordinators to initiate an action following a site inspection
  • To support the collection and analysis of Network Management data for the evaluation of the Service and network performance by the Network Performance Officer.
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • NVQ4 or equivalent, e.g. BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering
  • Highways Inspector accreditation or equivalent- desirable
  • NRSWA Act 1990 Supervisor- desirable
  • Have experience of working within the highways maintenance or civil engineering sectors.
  • Interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports and providing technical advice or drawings
  • Knowledge of current highways legislation, including the New Roads & Street Works Act and the Highway Act.
