Job Description

If youre a Design Engineer looking to take on a new role in a market-leading company then I have just what youre looking for!Initial 12-month rolling contract.PAYE: £22.75 p/h Umbrella £30 p/hCompany:The company are a global automotive manufacturing company. They are internationally renowned for their quality and reliability. They are currently undergoing a fantastic period of growth and so are expanding their team. You will be joining a highly visibleteam that works directly with all areas of engineering.The role:As an Engine Systems Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design of components and assemblies in engine and aftertreatment mounting, cooling, moulded hose design and exhaust systems. Day to day activities will include:

  • Design of components and assemblies in CREO.
  • Completion of component and group drawings.
  • Participating in Design Reviews, FMEAs.
  • Management of engineering changes through life cycle management.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Involving other engineers and technical resources to address detailed technical problems.
  • Working with a global team that requires virtual collaboration.
  • Working with design resources and suppliers to rapidly implement design changes.
What is required:
  • Working knowledge of solid modelling (ideally CREO and Teamcenter).
  • Creativity in generation of solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing / design for assembly philosophies.
  • Control and communication of cost, quality, and schedule constraints.
  • Experience of off highway machine design and development, ideally in one of the above areas .
  • Engineering Degree Qualification or HND with experience.
