Job Description

IBM Mainframe Test Analyst - Leicester with remote working option (must be UK based)£30K - £39K basic + annual bonus, pension and other great benefits.Opportunity to join a leading FTSE100 company as an IBM Mainframe Test Analyst working in a team of 7 Test Analysts.Role:In this role you will interpret requirements in order to produce test plans, design and develop manual and automated test cases, test execution and closure.Youll be liaising with the development teams and key business users in Agile development projects. Attending Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, task breakdown, sprint retrospectives and daily stand ups. Working closely with various stakeholders atdifferent technical levels. Providing updates and status reports to senior management, alerting on issues and defects raised.Essential:

  • Previous manual testing experience throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle including test planning, analysis, execution and evaluation.
  • Experience in following Agile Scrum or Kanban development environments.
  • Ability to adhere to software testing best practices and methods, and strive for continuous improvements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • A team player, with excellent communication and people skills. Providing a strong contribution to all Agile ceremonies.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, work effectively both as part of a team and on your own, plus work additional hours if required.
  • Knowledge of IBM, DB2, ADABAS
  • Experience of testing on IBM Mainframe Systems - IBM MVS.
Desirable:
  • A professional accreditation such as ISTQB/ISEB would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of tools including Team Foundation Server/Azure Devops, Leapwork or similar.
  • An understanding of automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of retail business environment processes.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and using relational database management systems.
  • Experience of API and cross browser testing.
  • Knowledge of SQL, IBM WebSphere MQ, Zos Connect, IDZ.
