Job Description

Morgan McKinley is thrilled to partner with a renowned Leicester-based brand in their search for a Commercial Finance Assistant. This presents an exciting opportunity for candidates pursuing an accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) and/or recentfinance graduates who are highly ambitious and eager to learn. The successful candidate will benefit from a guaranteed development plan, ensuring continuous growth and advancement in their career. As the Commercial Finance Assistant, youll work closely with senior leadership, actively shaping the strategic financial direction. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Month-End Management: Taking charge of month-end financial tasks, such as posting accurate accruals and prepayments, approving invoices, and conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Delving into financial variances, updating monthly board reports with relevant commentary, and contributing to the creation of Store Performance Packs.
  • Financial Planning and Support: Playing a vital role in maintaining accurate bonus calculations, supporting updates for regional directors, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and the annual budget for the UK market.
Drive Process Improvements: Your dedication to enhancing financial practices will be crucial. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for process improvements that significantly increase the efficiency and quality of financialactivities. The ideal candidate for this role is an extroverted individual who thrives in social interactions and is confident when presenting to senior stakeholders, possess a natural ability to engage with others. You must have a strong desire to take on new challengesand continuously improve your skills.
