Technical Sales Manager - Waterproofing & Roofing SystemsJob Title: Technical Sales Manager - Waterproofing & Roofing SystemsIndustry Sector: Flat Roofing, Single Ply Roofing, Liquid Applied Waterproofing, Waterproofing, Waterproofing Membranes, Roof Coatings, Green Roofs, Roofing, Insulation, Cladding, Refurbishment Projects, Refurbishment, Car Parks, Local Authorities, Consultants, Architects, Specifiers, Waterproofing Contractors, Waterproofing Sub- Contractors, Roofing Contractors, Main ContractorsArea to be covered: North East & YorkshireRemuneration: £45,000 - £55,000neg (depending on exp) + 25% bonusBenefits: Company car OR £5,300 car allowance & comprehensive benefits packagesThe role of the Technical Sales Manager - Waterproofing & Roofing Systems will involve:

  • Technical field sales position selling a range of single ply roofing systems
  • Working on both new build and refurbishment projects
  • 70% of your time will be spent managing framework agreements and following projects through to completion via main contractors, waterproofing & roofing sub-contractors and installers
  • the remaining 30% of your time will be spent gaining specifications with predominantly architects, consultants health authorities and other major specifiers
  • inheriting a well-established territory currently turning over £3.2m
  • Provide technical support and advice on site
  • Assisting the technical service team
  • Typical projects include hotels, schools, healthcare, education, stadiums, facilities, retail
    • The ideal applicant will be an Technical Sales Manager - Waterproofing & Roofing Systems with:
  • Must have sold roofing / waterproofing systems or related products such as: waterproofing, structural waterproofing, roofing, liquid applied, flat roofing system, single ply, cladding, rainscreen, brick slip, insulation etc
  • Must have some technical specification experience selling to architects, consultants and specifiers OR specialist quality waterproofing & roofing sub-contractors, main contractors and installers
  • Would consider someone from a technical background with no field sales
  • Must have experience working on refurbishment projects
  • Ideally have construction site experience
  • Ability to hunt for new projects whilst also building and retaining relationships along the way
  • Ability to sell a technical solution rather than on price (must be able to up-sell)
