Our Software Engineers ensure the products we deliver are fit for purpose and meetthe quality and standards that our customers expect.About the role:This role is within the Stockbroking Lab which supports Halifax Share Dealing LTD (HSDL) on a range of initiatives using agile tools and methodologies to deliver iterative change safely for the Group and our customers.Within the lab there are four feature teams working on initiatives through route to live. Youll be placed into one of these teams. Working collaboratively with the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and other team members youll be delivering a variety of initiativesacross the platform.As a Senior Software Engineer, youll need to be an excellent developer and be able to turn requirements into functional solutions when delivering change across the application estate. Youll create and merge changes, alongside the other feature teams, aswe work towards releasing the changes into production.Heres where you make a difference:

• Agile ceremonies such as the daily stand up, backlog planning and prioritisation sessions and retrospectives
• Collectively come together across the lab on daily scrum of scrums to update on progress and issues/blockers
• Technical leadership across a sophisticated application estate
• Line management, supporting your team and fellow engineers
• Supporting live planning, build and test
• Supporting any service incidents (including being on the out of hours on-call rota)
• Producing code via our DevOps pipeline
• Using your problem-solving skills to come up with innovative solutions!

Heres what we need from you:

• The ability to understand a complete technical stack with primary skills in .NET (C#), ASP.NET and ASP.
• Any experience in Oracle PL/SQL and shell scripting in Linux would be beneficial
• A good understanding of source code management via GIT
• Youll what good looks like and can define team technical standards, based on best practice and your own experience
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring
• Providing support to the Service (Run) Team with incident resolution
• Work within limited parameters to define estimates and technical solutions
• Experience in DevOps tooling (Jenkins and Urban Code)
• Understand of agile tools to manage scrum team activity (JIRA and Confluence)
• Be comfortable taking on tasks outside your engineering subject area to benefit the lab and keep delivery on track.
• Experience integrating applications with 3rd party owned systems and shared Group services.
