My Client are a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. They combine the resources of a global, multibillion pound company with local, client-focused delivery in more than 400 locations around the world butare still able to operate on a local basis and deliver high quality of service and delivery.Due to securing a number of new and exciting projects, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Hydraulic Flood Modeller to support their expanding workload in their flood risk teamvbased in their Leeds office. The team undertakes a widevariety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector, across a range of development sectors. They seek to provide integrated solutions incorporating state of the art design and require an experienced individual of highcalibre to assist in the hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment to support their design of flood risk schemes and flood risk assessment services. Specifically, they are seeking to strengthen their ability to deliver modelling services with experience in developing catchment-based hydrology, the building and running of hydraulic models using Flood Modeller Pro software and the production of flood riskassessments. The projects typically range in size from £1m to £100m schemes covering defence, transport, local government, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential developments. You will work independently and proactivelyon technical aspects from a projects inception, determining client briefs, hydraulic calculation, model build, calibration, designing simulations and reporting in accordance with best practice. There will also be the opportunity to work collaboratively withsenior management on larger projects including Quality Assurance and Project Management. You will take individual responsibility for a range of project types, manage them independently and be the clients main point of contact. Where appropriate, you will instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff in the design and management of schemes and workwith clients to ensure delivery of projects to time and cost, and to help manage change.The ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering flood modelling commissions for flood risk projects and flood risk assessments to support projects through the planning system and have a detailed knowledge and experience in applying UK flood risk policy(NPPF and TAN15). You must be experienced in undertaking technical reviews of hydraulic models produced by others and also engaging local authorities and the Environment Agency when reviewing technical details around hydraulic modellingYou must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field and eligible for CEng MICE or Chartered with CIWEM and have experience of commercial management of projects and change control. It is essential that you have experience in fluvial floodmodelling using industry-standard software including Tuflow / Estry / Flood Modeller Pro and it is desirable that you are proficient with surface water management plans, SUDs and Integrated Catchment Modelling.As there may be some site visits, you must have a full UK drivers license for this role.With the ever changing world in mind, they are very happy to discuss flexible working for this role, including the possibility of reduced hours, flexible start and finish times, or compressed hours.
