Job Description

Group Financial Controller required for market leading business based in Leeds City centre. This is a brilliant, career defining opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious Group Financial Controller to work in an exciting, technology driven business.The Group Financial Controller will be a key member of the finance leadership team and responsible for the integrity of the Group Financial and Management Accounts, statutory compliance, financial reporting, treasury, and tax compliance. They will ensurecontrols and systems are effective, with consistent application of financial policies and procedures across all areas of the business.The role is broad and a genuine no.2 to the Group Finance Director. An incredible career opportunity and a chance to drive real change autonomously and in partnership with the GFD and senior leadership team. The successful candidate will have first classcommunication skills and the ability and gravitas to develop and lead a large team.Key ResponsibilitiesOverall group responsibility for Financial and Management Accounts including statutory compliance, financial reporting and consolidation and tax compliance

  • The go-to senior leader for technical accounting
  • Manage the production of the monthly management accounts, ensuring that all deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
  • Manage the production of the annual statutory accounts for Group
  • Liaise direct with external and internal audit to ensure best practice and adherence to the requirements Group and the Parent Company
  • Play a key role in the development of finance staff by motivation, education and guidance for continual improvement. Ensuring efficiency is maximised and the roles, functions and outputs of the finance function are effective and focussed on business delivery
  • Lead on finance integration of any acquisitions
  • Deputise for the GFD at a range of internal and external meetings, as and when required
  • Incorporate internal and external policy and process changes at a local level where relevant.
Key Requirements
  • Professionally qualified accountant
  • Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles and techniques
  • Experience of working at a senior level in a complex and fast paced environment
  • Delivering change to large scale, multi-stakeholder, global organisation.
  • Experience reviewing and redesigning financial process
  • Proven leadership experience - delivering best practice within a Finance function Experience of delivering accurate accounts to tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing and reporting information relating to large budgets
  • Staff management - performance management and coaching
  • Experience of 3rd party finance outsource is desirable
Our client has an office in the heart of Leeds, but they have embraced hybrid working and the successful GFC will be able to work from home for part of the week if required.
