Job Description

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Utilities industry for an experienced Design Engineer. This in a fantastic opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join their growing Engineering team.As a Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and co-ordinate projects through tender, investigation, design, construction and completion stages
  • Preparing and registering all relevant documentation and ensuring it is in compliance with company/client requirements
  • Produce and check technical documents
  • Producing construction packs ready for handover to site teams
  • Regularly liaising with designated project team
  • Ensuring that all designs are completed to CSM 2015 regulations
  • Ensure design drawings and construction packages reflect the works to be delivered accurately and to all engineering and asset specifications for the contract
  • Liaising with external contractors to ensure the project runs smoothly
  • Producing accurate statutory notices for works to be carried out
  • Ensuring work is carried out in a productive and timely manner, with a focus on minimising risk in all functions of Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality aspects
  • Completing tasks to current requirements, making sure documentation complies with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Completing tasks to designated timescales
  • Liaising with internal departments, clients and third parties
  • Completing quality assurance documents throughout the end to end process and within each stage of a scheme
Required skills of the Design Engineer:
  • Educated to A levels or BTEC National
  • Experience of using MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and also conversant with AutoCAD 2D / GIS software
  • Have a good knowledge of water and waste water systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015
  • Understanding of network modelling software
  • Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
  • A focus on good customer service and creating long lasting relationships with client, staff and suppliers
