Job Description

Head of Business PartneringFTC (till Feb 2024, maternity cover)Newport - Hybrid (1 day in office)Working in partnership with one of the UKs Top 50 Asset Finance providers, we are currently on the lookout for an ambitious and experienced Head of Business Partnering.The Head of Business Partnering is one of the highest profile roles within the business, reporting to the CFO, you will play a critical role supporting the senior management team, to deliver a first-class finance function and to drive quality commercialinformation to support the growth and development of the business.Who is our clientEstablished in 1996 to provide flexible and accessible finance to SMEs across the country, our client has since grown to become one of the UKs largest finance houses, and their growth plans dont stop there.Our client believes it is the way that they do business that keeps their customers loyal. They have invested heavily in market leading technology, to ensure a seamless customer journey, and at every opportunity, the business focuses on the long-term valuefor the customer.Key Responsibilities of the Head of Business Partnering

  • Lead on business financial planning and budgeting, engaging all senior stakeholders
  • Analyse, interpret and present drivers of business performance across a complex business model
  • Build and apply cost allocation methodologies alongside Operating Expense reporting.
  • Build and report on profitability - customer, vendor, segment, account managers, team etc.
  • Lead on Pricing and Commercial analysis and reporting, including chairing of Pricing Committee
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting on performance and forecast, identifying trends (e.g., inflation) and working with central support teams to deliver cost savings and ensuring that operations meet commitments and targets.
  • Understand risk and customer analytics across the company to optimise business insight and performance
  • Liaise with business teams to ensure that variances are understood, and appropriate counter measures are put in place to deliver value
  • To be able to judge when to escalate, align broadly and when to be decisive in evaluating decision making.
  • To ensure that projects are delivered to plan, balance cost and risk, hitting KPIs and securing long-term performance delivery.
  • Responsibility for commission incentive management, analysis, and reporting
The successful Head of Business Partnering will have:
  • Strong financial technical skills, highly computer literate, advanced Excel
  • Accounting/finance qualification to degree level or relevant industry experience
  • Detail and process driven and able to understand and deliver corrective actions
  • Proven leading, implementing, and delivering through data analysis and business objectives
  • High level of senior stakeholder management who builds strong relationships inside the business and with external stakeholders
  • Understanding how we can support our customers (KYC) and how to deliver
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Proactive and self-motivated; taking the initiative and seeing the job through
  • You must be extremely organised with superb attention to detail.
  • A willingness to review systems and processes to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • A good team player who will work toward a shared goal and sharing rewards
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
