Job Description

My client is seeking a proactive and pragmatic Data Protection Adviser to support ongoing compliance with data protection requirements within the Group. The successful candidate will report to the Data Protection Manager and work with key business areasto provide both advisory inputs and proactive monitoring of the companys compliance.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance on data subject privacy rights and data protection risks
  • Coordinate and manage Subject Access Requests and Erasure requests
  • Support and coordinate due diligence and vendor assessments
  • Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Assist with the investigation of data breaches and complaints
  • Assist in the completion of Records of Processing Activities and other accountability requirements
  • Carry out cookie compliance audits
  • Collaborate with Group DPO office to ensure successful delivery of GDPR requirements
  • Support the production of regular reports to the Head of Compliance, Leadership team and other relevant stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of education and training to staff to build Data Protection awareness within the Group
  • Support the Compliance and Leadership team on embedding a risk aware culture
  • Continually drive for enhanced efficiency and customer outcomes in all processes
Requirements
  • Data Protection knowledge (UK DPA, GDPR and PECR) and 2+ years experience of operating in this space
  • Practical and commercial approach to problem solving
  • Able to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision but maintaining a focus on teamwork
  • Able to work and deliver results in a fast moving environment with changing priorities
  • Strong team working skills and a collaborative approach, both face-to-face and remotely
  • Organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives
  • A Data Protection qualification is desirable but not essential balanced against relevant experience
