This is an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to be responsible for leading growth in highways and civils projects within the business and become an instrumental part of our growing Civil Engineering Business. The key parts ofthis role are to build new, long-term relationships with senior client contacts beyond the existing portfolio and to move into the Operations Director role within a year or two. Over the last 50 years the balance has tippedtowards Building. For diversity and resilience, the shareholders now wish to re-address that balance and are investing heavily in Civils growth. They want it to become at least 30% of the business by profit and are investing in new experienced people to fuelthat growth.The Operations Manager (Civils) roleYou will have fullresponsibility and accountability for a group of civilsincluding highwaysprojects reporting to the Operations Director - Highways. You will champion the Build Sure philosophy by behaving in line with our values, collaborating withall internal departments to ensure alignment to the Civils growth strategy, business plan, budget and objectives. Our growth strategy for Civils includes making Highways the largest sector in our Civils portfolio.You will highlight and manage project risks, identify potential opportunities and mentor the continuous improvement initiatives in order to improve efficiencies. Managing risk and opportunity is seen a key element of our project and commercial performance.We will work with you on a tailored and personal executive development plan with training and development aimed not only at improving your performance but in making you ready for the next step to Operations Director, a direct report to the Managing Directorand key part of the Civils Senior Leadership Team.Your Profile
