Job Description

As a Barclays Application Support Specialist you will perrform a critical role in BX GTSM (group technology service management) with responsibility to ensure stability, continuity and the availability of the application, in addition to providing rapidresponse to incidents and escalated user queries. You will also own, maintain and track incidents and problems through their entire lifecycle in this hands-on technical role, and should be able to work independently. What will you be doing Be responsible for the technical resolution of incidents, reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors to limit downtime and resolve the issue Ensure the delivery of solutions in line with the Service Level Agreements to deadlines and quality standards, providing regular updates to key stakeholders at all levels Be acountable for the ownership and execution of all application activities in the day to day operations of our production applications relating to the individual product area Own and prioritise individual incidents and ensure support of the handover of new or enhanced software into business-as-usual operation and assimiliate the information Deliver documentation to agreed standards, on time and error free As part of a team provide 24/7 cover and support, providing expertise and specialised system knowledge to allow the resolution of key incidents on a 24/7 basis Attends PIR (Post Incident Review) Identify proactive remedial strategies to prevent future software problems and to improve the quality of delivered software What were looking for: Significant exposure to application/ technical support Significant expertise in incident/ problem management Expertise in the following technologies - Linux & Oracle Skills that will help you in the role: Graduate degree preferred ITIL V3/V4 Java, WebSphere, ITRS, ELK, Cloud & Wily Unix/Linux scripting; SQL Where will you be workingYou will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.
